Editorial Policy
How CivilsIASPrep selects, writes, reviews, labels and updates public UPSC preparation content.
Purpose and audience
Our public editorial pages help UPSC Civil Services aspirants understand syllabus concepts, current developments and preparation methods. Content is written for learning and revision, not to manufacture search traffic. We do not publish learner records, paid course material, private test attempts or personalised evaluations in the public library.
Authorship and review
Public guides are produced or substantially reviewed by the CivilsIASPrep Editorial Team. Each indexed guide must contain a direct answer, original explanation, examination relevance, related questions and authoritative references. Time-sensitive claims should be checked against a current official publication before release. A visible review date tells readers when the page was last assessed; it is not a claim that every external source remains unchanged.
Source hierarchy
We prefer the Constitution, legislation, judgments, UPSC documents, parliamentary and government reports, regulators, official statistics and recognised intergovernmental institutions. Reputable secondary analysis may help explain competing views, but it should not replace the primary record where one is available. We identify uncertainty and avoid inventing exact figures when the source or period cannot be verified.
Automation and AI assistance
Software and AI tools may assist with classification, drafting, formatting, summaries or quality checks. They do not remove editorial responsibility. Public pages must pass publication, depth, source, semantic-rendering and freshness checks. The responsible team reviews whether the result is accurate, useful, non-duplicative and appropriately framed for UPSC before it is eligible for indexing.
Independence and advertising
Advertising or subscription status does not determine the conclusion of an editorial page. Ads, when enabled, are kept separate from the text and are not presented as official recommendations. Product features and paid access are described distinctly from the public reference material. Ad placement and eligibility are governed by a separate inventory system.
